What these engines will not decide for you
StaffingLedger's engines produce educational, business-planning estimates for staffing and recruiting pricing, cash flow, and growth questions. They stop short of several things on purpose, listed below.
Not legal, tax, accounting, or credit advice
These engines do not provide, and should not be relied on for:
- Legal advice
- Tax advice
- Accounting advice
- Credit decisions
- Employment-law determinations
- Guaranteed business outcomes
- A formal business valuation or appraisal
State rules aren't built in
Federal figures used in these engines (Social Security, Medicare, FUTA) are versioned and dated, see Methodology. State unemployment tax, workers' compensation rates, and overtime rules vary by state and are not built into any engine's defaults, you supply your own applicable rates. Where an engine states a federal overtime baseline, remember state law can be more protective, this is not an employment-law calculator.
The decision stays yours
You are responsible for what you do with an engine's output. If a decision is consequential, confirm the relevant numbers with your accountant, attorney, or other qualified professional before acting on them.
